Guido Biele obtained his diploma degree in Psychology at the Freie Universitaet Berlin (FU Berlin) in Germany. He did his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development (MPIB) at the Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition. In collaboration with Joerg Rieskamp he investigated simple mathematical models for cooperation in groups and for social learning. He did his first postdoc working with Hauke Heekeren at the MPIB  and the FU Berlin, where he used model-based fMRI to investigate reward-based decision making. He is now continuing this work at the Center for the Study of Human Cognition at the University of Oslo.
