Bio:

Hauke Heekeren is Professor of Affective Neuroscience and Psychology of Emotion at the Cluster of Excellence „Languages of Emotion“ at Freie Universität Berlin and Head of the Max Planck Research Group „Neurocognition of Decision Making“ at the MPI for Human Development. He received his doctoral degree in medicine from the Charité University Medicine Berlin in 2000.  His primary research interests concern the roles of motivation and affect in decision making, cognitive and affective components in normal and disturbed social cognition, and multimodal neuroimaging methodology. Current research themes include the effect of neuromodulators (such as drugs or common genetic polymorphisms) on cognitive and affective functions.
